PROGRAM: 3 Ways the Film Industry is Changing Georgia

Learn about the booming Georgia film industry from this month’s speaker, Lisa Smith, Executive Director for the Greater Rome Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Georgia has become one of the world’s top destinations for filming. This year more than 300 feature films, television movies and series are set to film here. Lisa will discuss the Georgia state incentive, local markets and economics, and community positioning to capitalize on the film industry.

Lisa J Smith, Executive Director Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau

Lisa has led the Tourism office team at the Greater Rome Convention and Visitors Bureau since 1997. The Bureau was one of the first counties to be trained and certified for the Camera Ready program that provides effective one-on-one assistance between production companies and all aspects of production at the local level. Rome & Floyd County has had a long history of hosting film productions from exterior/interior scouting, production, location management, contracting and procurement.


The AWN Meal for our luncheon this month is Braised Beef Brisket Strudel with Fantina Cheese, Roasted Fall Vegetable Salad, Chipotle-Lime Aioli and for dessert Old-Fashioned Bread Pudding, Bourban-Vanilla, Chantilly Cream. You have the option to choose if you would like the AWN Meal, a gluten-free meal or a vegetarian option.


There are three options to register below. Please select if you are 1. an AWN Affiliate – ProWIN, 2. a Member (Sponsors are Members too) or 3. a NonMember which will make you a Guest of AWN.
