According to our exclusive anonymous survey of more than 600 working women in Atlanta, 67 percent say they spend lunchtime at their desk. So, if you’re one of those women, you’re not alone; you’re eating with at least 384 other women!
Sponsored by Atlanta Women's Network, this survey collects reaal information from Atlanta’s women about what they do – at work and after. How long is the lunch break? What do women do during their lunch breaks? And much more about our lives in general.
AWN's Atlanta Working Woman Survey, open through March 1, takes less than one minute to complete. AWN urges working women to pass the link along to their female co-workers and associates, to get their input as well.
"Considering the salary ranges stated by the respondents, the survey shows many working women, even at higher incomes, are spending their limited time for lunch in their offices," says AWN's 2007-2008 President, Jackie White who is CEO of her own company, SynRG, Inc.
"This helps us understand that AWN must continue to provide productive tools to Atlanta's working women,” she continued, “so they get the most out of time and their professional development. That is exactly what WomenUP is designed to do. Our take-away tool for this year's WomenUP is negotiation skills...something every woman needs in the workplace and in almost every other aspect of her life."
On Thursday, Mar. 6, we will present aggregate data from the survey at AWN’s annual WomenUP conference, to be held in the Egyptian Ballroom of the Fox Theatre. We will also distribute our findings to local, regional and national media.
Celebrating International Women's Day, Women UP 2008 wil pack significant activities and information into a relaxed and time-effective format, for the expected 400 attendees.
Continues White, "WomenUP is a time to share and learn while enjoying a spectacular venue with your professional peers and friends. This event celebrates the Atlanta working woman and her professional life.”
