ove Gender Equality Initiative in Fulton County Government
Fulton County Commissioner Nancy A. Boxill will present an overview of the Fulton County Gender Equality Initiative, in particular the economic outreach program targeting local women business owners. Fulton County staff will be on hand to answer questions and help interested business women register in the Fulton County Procurement System. Dr. Boxill signed the Atlanta Declaration on Gender Equality in 2006 and helped to sponsor and host two international Gender Equality Conferences organized by the United Nations in 2006 and 2007.
Dr. Boxill serves as chair to the National Black Arts Festival Board of Directors; chair to the Fulton/Atlanta Land Bank Authority; vice chair to the Atlanta/Fulton County Recreation Authority; member, Herndon Foundation Board of Trustees; member, The Atlanta Opera Board of Directors; member, Governor's State Children's Trust Fund Commission; and member, the Atlanta Development Authority.
A native of New York City, she is a former Lexus Leader of the Arts on PBA-TV. Commissioner Boxill, who holds a Ph.D. in Child Psychology from Union Graduate School in New York, focuses on women’s and childcare issues.
